Job Title: Medical Officer (3  Job Opportunities)

Duty Station:  Soroti Regional Referral Hospital & Arua Regional Referral, Uganda

Reports to:  Art Clinical Care Coordinator

 

About US:

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has received a grant from the Center for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC) Cooperative Agreement (CoAg), a strategic mechanism of the United States Government (USG) to implement activities in line with its mandate in support of the Public health response to HIV/AIDS and other health systems. CDC will be supporting a pool of Human Resources that are expected to lead the implementation of the grant. The staff to be recruited under this grant will be contracted by the MOH. The contracts are for one (1) year renewable subject to availability of funds and satisfactory performance of the staff

 

Job Summary:  Providing curative and preventative health care services.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participating in diagnosis, treatment and management of patients.
  • Evaluating patients and referring them for specialized health care.
  • Participating in the delivery of quality health care to patients.
  • Participating in Outreach and Community Health Programmes.
  • Participating in research activities.
  • Participating in continuing Professional Development Programmes.
  • Promoting observance of the Professional Code of Conduct and Ethics.
  • Compiling and submitting periodic reports.
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

 

Key Outputs:

  • Patients diagnosed and treated.
  • Patients referred.
  • Outreach health service programs implemented.
  • Code of conduct and ethics implemented.
  • Reports compiled and submitted.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Must have MBChB from a recognized Institution
  • Master’s Degree in a health related field will be an added advantage.
  • Must be registered and licensed with Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
  • One (1) years’ exposure in managing HIV/Aids patients.
