Job Summary: The Compliance Analyst will be responsible for first line compliance surveillance, particularly in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Financing of Terrorism (CFT) alerts. They will also provide guidance and management in line with laws, regulations, bank policies, and international standards. The role includes deputizing the Compliance Manager and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure 100% compliance with laws, regulations, guidelines, and circulars.
- Assess and investigate AML alerts and activities related to money laundering, terrorist-financing, and sanctions compliance.
- Provide AML/KYC training across the bank.
- Handle queries from the Financial Intelligence Authority, Bank of Uganda, and Correspondent Banks related to money laundering.
- Analyze customer profiles for risk, conduct due diligence, and recommend actions, including customer risk rating changes.
- Prepare reports on AML/CFT and Compliance risks.
- Conduct due diligence for financial institutions and compliance reviews.
- Monitor compliance with Data Protection Laws and Regulations.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Monitor compliance across various legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Investigate AML alerts and manage related queries.
- Provide support and training in AML/KYC.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Business, Economics, or Banking.
- Professional Qualifications: ACAMS, CPA preferred.
- A Master’s Degree in Law, Economics, Finance, or Banking is desirable.
- At least three years of relevant experience.
