Heritage International School, Uganda
On the 9th of September 1994, H.I.S. opened its doors. Missionaries from five Christian missions: Finnish Free Foreign Mission, Church of God Mission, Kinderhilfswerk, Mission Aviation Fellowship and Baptist Mission of Uganda had signed a Memorandum of Agreement to combine their efforts to set up a mission school. H.I.S. was to be a co-operative effort to support Christian mission personnel in Uganda. Children from both mission and non-mission families were to be welcomed.
Our aim continues as it was at the start. We continue to provide a high quality education that prepares our young people for a life of faith and service.

Students are almost always placed in a grade with their peers according to age. If the school tests highlight areas of concern the school may, in discussion with the parents, decide to place children differently to provide a better learning environment.
Promotions are recommended at the end of the school year based on student performance. If a student is not eligible for promotion to the next grade, parents will be informed and invited to school to discuss ways forward for their child.
Religious preferences of parents and students are respected by the school, however, all classroom instruction is in the context of the Christian ethos of the school. All students will be required to participate in the religious instruction and activities of the school.
Students may be admitted throughout the school year. Parents should provide evidence of recent previous schooling.
