About Kenya Medical Training College Port Reitz Campus
Overview
The history of KMTC Port Reitz campus dates back 1985 when it opened its doors to train Clinical Officers. The campus started with a class of 50 students.
The campus has recorded exponential growth over the years. From a campus offering only one course at inception, KMTC Port Reitz campus now offers four courses with others projected to start in the near future.
The campus borders Moi International Airport, the Port Reitz Standard Gauge Railway terminal and the Port Reitz Hospital. Access to the campus is through a tarmac Road.

The growth in the number of couses offered in the campus has necessitated infrastructure growth and this is on course with support from the KMTC Headquarters and Changamwe Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
The campus has also had support in renovation and refurbishing of infrastructure and financial and other support to students. Some of the development partners who have provided this support are:

Infrastructure at the campus comprises of:
Thirteen lecture rooms,
One fully equipped Skills lab,
One library well stocked with a wide variety of books,
Two Medical Laboratory Sciences laboratories,
One phlebotomy laboratory,
One well equipped gymnasium room for Physiotherapy department,
One Computer room equipped with computers
A Dining hall.

In addition, the campus has seventeen residential 2 and 3 bedroom houses for staff.
Clubs and sports
Students are encouraged to engage in various extra-curricular activities available at the campus. These activities include sporting activities among others.
