Nairobi, Kenya.KWS to conduct Rangers recruitment exercise
The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) is seeking to increase the number of rangers in the country to counter the rising cases of poaching.
According to a newspaper advertisement, KWS will conduct a ranger’s recruitment exercises soon.
The body is seeking to recruit men and women who can brave the harsh remote and hostile climatic conditions that rangers work in.
“Successful candidates will undergo a mandatory basic intensive paramilitary training at the KWS Law Enforcement Academy- Manyani before posting to the field for park and security operations,” read the recruitment announcement.
Free of Charge
Among the requirements are that candidates must have a maximum grade of D+ in KCSE.
However, KWS warned interested candidates to be wary of unscrupulous people who may pose as recruitment officers while the exercise will be ongoing.
The announcement also stated that people found engaging in corrupt activity will be arrested and prosecuted while recruits found canvassing and lobbying will be disqualified.
The recruitment exercise will be free of charge starting at 8am and is expected to go on in the rest of the country on different dates indicated in the announcement.
