Mak and NUST Infrastructure Projects an Avenue For Collaboration
On 22nd May 2017, a delegation from the Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA) visited Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) where they met with the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Tjama Tjivikua and other University officials. The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Finance and Administration), Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe who was part of the CAA delegation later held talks with Prof. Tjivijua on prospects of collaboration between Makerere University with NUST.
Commenting on the visit, Prof. Nawangwe said, “Namibia University of Science and Technology is undergoing extensive modernisation projects just like Makerere University. We agreed to initiate a Memorandum of Understanding.”
The Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA) is a membership organisation for professional bodies representing architects in Commonwealth countries. Formed in 1965 to promote co-operation for ‘the advancement of architecture in the Commonwealth’ and particularly to share and increase architectural knowledge, it currently has 36 members. The Association is best known for its procedures for the validation of courses in architecture which convene international visiting boards to schools to assess courses against set criteria.
