Job Title: Medical Officer

Organization:  Uganda Cancer Institute

Duty Station:    Kampala Uganda

Salary Scale:     U4

Reports to:        Medical Officer Special Grade (Radiation Oncology)

About US:

The Uganda Cancer Institute is mandated by me UCI Act of 2016 to undertake cancer care, research and training. The UCI is also the designated EastAfrica Regional Centre of Excellence in Cancer Care, Research and Training.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Participating in diagnosis, treatment and management of patients;
  • Evaluating of patients and referring them for specialized healthcare;
  • Adhering to the professional code of conduct and ethics;
  • Participating in outreach and community health programmes;
  • Participating in research activities and health data collection;
  • Compiling and submitting periodic reports; and
  • Carrying out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal applicant must have an MBChB degree or its equivalent from a recognized university or institution;
  • Should be fully registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council;
  • Must have a valid practicing license; and
  • Must be willing to work in the Radiotherapy Department.
