Medicine Bachelors Programme (MBBS) At Daeyang University
Daeyang University Medicine Bachelors Programme; Daeyang University embarked on a Medical School Project in 2015 to assist the Malawi nation in the training of medical doctors. The project involves construction of a medical school campus which will include a teaching
hospital. The ground breaking ceremony for the project was held on 12th March 2016, and was presided over by the State Presi- dent, His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, who is also Champion for Higher Education in Africa. It is planned that the teaching hospital will be operational by the year 2019.
The MBBS programme is, initially, being offered in collaboration with the College of Medicine of the University of Malawi. Daeyang University and the College of Medicine of the University of Malawi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the joint train- ing of students who are being admitted under this programme. Students follow the approved University of Malawi MMBS curricu- lum and are resident at College of Medicine for the foundation year and for the first two pre-clinical years, utilizing University of Malawi academic and administrative resources and facilities, infrastruc- ture, and human resource capacity. Daeyang University provides the required financial support to the programme.
