LUANAR Generic Postgraduate Application Form 2024-2025

The Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons for admission into its generic postgraduate programmes for the 2024-2025 academic year.

1. Preliminary information for interested applicants

a. Minimum generic entry requirements for admissions:

∙ A brief curriculum vitae containing an overview of education, work, publications, and other professional activities as well as at least three references from persons in professional and academic communities;

∙ Where necessary, candidates will also be required to take oral and/or written examinations in their major and minor fields to determine overall preparation and background to cope with their desired programme.

b.Conditional Offers: Candidates assessment for admission will be based on the academic transcripts provided and emphasis will be placed on the courses the candidate has already covered, and if such courses and/or their grades are found to be insufficient for admission to the desired

programme, the candidate will be required to take some enhancing courses from the existing taught MSc. or taught PhD programs before commencement of, or during their postgraduate studies.

c.Further requirements: Candidates must also meet the specific entry requirements for each faculty/programme as outlined under Section 2 of this advert and Section F – programme details section of PGDMP-2024-2025 application form.

d.Semester Intake: Candidates must also indicate whether March or September Intake.

a.The address for obtaining and submitting application forms is: The University Registrar, LUANAR, Bunda Campus, P.O. Box 219, Lilongwe, and (Attention Admissions Office). b. A complete application package MUST include the following:

i. Application form PGDMP-2024-2025;

ii.Copies of all relevant degrees/certificates/academic transcripts which are being used for the application. These must be duly certified as true copies of the originals by a recognised Commissioner of Oaths.

iii.Two academic reference letters.

iv.1 page research interest concept note.

v.Write up on candidate’s research experience and suitability for Postgraduate studies.

vi.Curriculum vitae (CV) with names and contact details of three traceable referees.

vii.Original proof of availability of funds for training i.e. official sponsorship letter.

c.Application fee: all applicants are strictly required to deposit a non-refundable application fee of K10, 000.00 for Malawian and $30.00 USD for international applicants to one of the following Bunda Fees Bank Accounts:
