Criteria for Admission

Entry in Year 1

MSCE, “O” Level, IGCSE, GCE with Six Credits including Geography, Mathematics, English, Physics and any other related science subject.

Entry in Year 2

A-Level with at least a C grade in Physics, Geography, Mathematics and other related science subject; Diploma in Land related programme. However, they will be required to audit first year modules.

Entry in Year 3

Diploma in Land Surveying as long as the candidate has accumulated the required credits as stipulated in the UNIMA Qualifications Framework and upon assessment of prior learning.

Students from Other Universities – Year 1 to Year 4

Students from other Universities doing a program in Bachelor of Science in Land Surveying and wishing to transfer or join this program at different levels will have to submit to the College the following:

  • Academic Transcript
  • Letter of Reference from their School/University
  • A Copy of their diploma/degree

Students from University of Malawi with Bachelor of Science in Land Surveying- Year 4

Students that have previously graduated from the University of Malawi Polytechnic with a Bachelor of Science in Land Surveying with a PASS and would like to continue with their studies to Honours degree level will have to submit to the College for assessment the following:

  • One-year practical experience report
  • Letter of recommendation from a Registered Land Surveyor or other allied Registered Professionals (Engineers and Quantity Surveyors) proving that they have worked for not less than a year.

Students who have previously graduated from the University of Malawi Polytechnic with Credit or more will be admitted into the Honours degree in Land surveying.

Students from other Universities – Year 5

Students that have previously graduated from other Universities with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Land surveying and wishing to join the Land Surveying (Honours) degree will have to submit to the College the following:

  • A Copy of their degree
  • Academic Transcript
  • One-year practical experience report
  • (Letter of recommendation from a Registered Land Surveyor or other allied Registered professionals (Engineers and Quantity Surveyors) proving that they have worked for not less than a year.
