Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participating in drafting and reviewing contracts involving Government and its Allied Agencies, and providing legal advice on Contract Committees;
- Interpreting laws, providing legal opinion and advice to clients;
- Preparing legal briefs of claims and suits;
- Carrying out legal research and drafting opinion;
- Participating in representing Government and its Allied Agencies in Courts and Tribunals;
- Drafting and filing pleadings and submissions;
- Participating in drafting legislations, preparing legal amendments, vetting and assisting Local Governments in drafting Ordinances and Bylaws;
- Carrying out administration of estates, inspecting and arbitrating family disputes and representing the Administrator General in Courts;
- Representing Attorney General in Working Committees;
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicants should be Ugandans in possession of Honours Bachelors’ Degree in Law and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre or any other accredited Institution.
- Ethics and integrity; interpersonal, communication and computer skills; ability to adapt to multi cultural settings; effective organizational and planning skills; time management skills; technical skills; report writing skills; negotiation skills; capacity for teamwork; innovation and concern for results, quality and standards.
- Age: Below 21 years
