Job Title:    PEPFAR Small Grants Coordinator

Salary Range: USD 41,081 (Actual FS salary determined by Washington D.C.)

Series/Grade:     FP-06

Job Summary: 

The PEPFAR Small Grants Coordinator is responsible, under the direct supervision of the Deputy PEPFAR Country Coordinator, for the management and implementation of the Embassy’s Community Grants for HIV/AIDS under PEPFAR.   Assist PEPFAR Coordination Office with administrative duties.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Education: Two years of college/University studies is required.
  • EXPERIENCE: Two years’ work experience in an office environment.
  • JOB KNOWLEDGE: General Knowledge of development goals and ability to write clearly and concisely.
  • Evaluations:
  • LANGUAGE:  Level IV fluent English in speaking, reading and writing is required. This may be tested.
  • SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Ability to plan, arrange, manage and administer all programs according to U.S. government regulations.
  • Must be able to work in a high-volume, high-productivity environment and to work well with others.
  • Must be computer literate, preferably with experience in EXCEL and MS WORD.
  • Must be able to draft concise and clear recommendations.
  •  A successful candidate must be a self-starter, able to plan and execute his/her duties with minimal supervision.
  •  The candidate must also be willing to travel frequently to remote parts of Uganda to monitor and evaluate project and must be able to liaise effectively with project implementers, beneficiaries, and local officials.
  •  Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance at the Public Trust level.
  • Qualifications:  All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.

* IMPORTANT:  Applicants who claim status as a preference-eligible U.S. Veteran must submit a copy of their most recent DD-214 (“Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty”), equivalent documentation, or certification.  A “certification” is any written document from the armed forces that certifies the service member is expected to be discharged or released from active duty service in the armed forces under honorable conditions within 120 days after the certification is submitted by the applicant. The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service.  Acceptable documentation must be submitted in order for the preference to be given.

** This level of preference applies to all Foreign Service employees on LWOP and CS with re-employment rights back to their agency or bureau.
