About US:

Vision Group incorporated as the New Vision Printing & Publishing Company Limited (NVPPCL) seeks to recruit highly motivated and dynamic individuals to fill the following positions on a contract basis for a project. The project is focused on improving access to justice for all, through improved accountability of duty bearers; and an empowered citizenry that ably articulates their rights. The project concentrates on media activities which help the poor and vulnerable persons to access justice and create awareness on their rights. The project envisages amplifying the voices of the voiceless and responsiveness of office bearers leading to an improved community justice that respects and promotes human rights. The project will operate over a period of eighteen months.

Job Summary:  The Project Coordinator will mainly ensure the success of the project by efficiently and effectively coordinating the schedule, budget, issues and risks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Implement, monitor and report on the project, including plan development; budgeting; communication strategies: resourcing timelines; measurements; risk analysis and mitigation strategies as per the Vision Group project management framework.
  • Manage project deliverables, scope and expectations and coordinate project progress with sponsors, project committees and the Project Management Office.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders. managing change relating to the delivery of project outcomes
  • Evaluate project delivery, performance and capture lessons learned.
  • Purchase assets and manage contractors within the project as per delegations.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation, recordings and reporting of the project
  • Coordinate the project committee, team and group meetings, minutes and action points
  • Identify and contribute business process improvements within Vision Group Project Management Office.
  • Fulfill employee requirements under the Occupational Safety and Health Act and ensure staff is fully conversant with all legislative and organizational requirements in respect of Occupational Safety and Health, privacy.
  • Foster and promote a collaborative team environment within the project and the workplace.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • A Master’s in Business Administration or a Masters in any Social Science and humanities will be an added advantage.
  • Three years of experience in a similar position.
  • At least 3 years of project management experience in an international NGO ensuring supervision, monitoring, evaluation and program design.
  • Project Management – demonstrated/proven knowledge and experience in working on and supporting project management to deliver business benefits.
  • Stakeholder management – ability to successfully manage a wide network of relationships.
  • Research, analysis and decision making – comprehensive reading, analyzing and summarizing of information, making sense of large amounts of information and complex situations and getting to the heart of the problem.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Communication – accurately and clearly convey timely information and ideas, using a style and manner of presentation appropriate to the target audience.
  • Problem resolution – act on identified needs and expectations, and resolve issues and problems of stakeholders ensuring that actions and decisions address stakeholder needs & expectations.
  • Leadership – contribute to the creation of a motivated environment where goals can be achieved, skills and knowledge are enhanced, and learning & development are valued. Instigating innovation and constructive change: helping others work through change.
  • Strategic thinking – planning and anticipating future implications, thinking broadly and understanding the long term impacts of decisions
