Job Title:    Regional Manager – South Western

Organization: Program for Accessible health, Communication and Education (PACE)

Reports to: Head of Regional Operations

Duty Station: Mbarara, Uganda

Job Summary: The Regional Manager – South Western is mainly responsible for providing leadership and overall management of resources, implementation strategies and local partnership building for effective program implementation in accordance to PSIU mission, vision and values.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Regularly monitor and track implementation of social marketing strategies and objectives in the region to achieve set targets.(Social Marketing).
  • The incumbent will also identify, Initiate and participate in the development of projects/strategies to address the regional needs in line with the organizational goal (Planning and Quality Assurance).
  • Formulate guidelines and monitor utilization of finance and assets in line with PACE financial policies and procedures.( Financial and Asset Management).
  • Develop, review and monitor the implementation of regional annual, quarterly and monthly work plans and budget for regional operations.
  • Keenly monitor the implementation of People and Culture activities in line with systems, policies and procedures(performance management, staff development, safety and security, disciplinaryetc)- People and Culture Management.
  • Actively engage, maintain and build effective relationships with implementing partners to achieve their participation in PACE’s programs at the regional level. (Advocacy, PR and partnership development).
  • Regularly monitor internal controls and track risk management systems/ procedures in line with PACE risk management procedures. (Risk Management).
  • Monitor the implementation of knowledge management systems and practices in the region e.g. success stories, best practices, monthly reports. (Knowledge Management).

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Achievement of program objectives and MBOs for staff.
  • Skilled and competent staff in achieving overall regional objectives.
  • Compliance to financial management procedures.
  • Regional work plans monitored on schedule and updated to realize organizational goals.
  • Budgets not overspent or under spent.
  • Risk register for the region developed and tracked.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate for the PACE Regional Manager – South Western career opportunity must hold a Master’s degree in Public Health or Clinical Psychology or Business Administration.
  • Additional years of project management experience or specialized training will be an asset.
  • At least five years of management or supervisory experience in Healthcare, or Human Resources, or an equivalent combination.
  • Previous experience in hiring new staff, conducting job performance reviews and coaching employees.
  • Experienced and dynamic leader.
  • Capacity Builder: You have experience in building institution, local technical, management and leadership capacity.
  • Collaborative manager: You are able to inspire a shared vision for the regional staff. You have successfully helped your staff learn, grow, and thrive in their work.
  • A Strategist and an innovator: You are creative, innovative and a strategic thinker.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
