Job Summary: The Relationship Manager – Transactional Banking will maintain and grow the collection portfolio by expanding, identifying and acquiring new business through superior business solutions, relationship management, and customer service.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Superior relationship management of the allocated collection portfolio in order to grow and retain existing business, whilst continuously expanding wallet share with existing clientele;
- Undertake business growth initiatives to acquire new quality clients and proactively steer a rich business pipeline to meet the assigned liability growth goals;
- Work hand-in-hand with other stakeholders on the timely and efficient preparation of business and other transactional documentation to facilitate faster turn-around-time and closure of deals; such may include preparing proposals, agreements and memos for Managerial approval and sign off;
- Work hand-in-hand with branches to ensure that bank clients pay through the bank and also follow up on any reconciliation challenges raised.
- Nurture and sustain corporate relationships and grow them to provide superior returns and contribute towards assets and liabilities growth as per set targets
- Develop and maintain well documented reports/visits/contracts with all the bank’s relationships, management and other units;
- Constantly drive the enhancement of the bank’s brand so that the bank holds out in the target markets as one of the best in the corporate field in terms of service, innovation and customer service/responsiveness;
- Ensure that the Bank remains protected in any business dealings with the customer by identifying and reporting risks that may result out of transactions or relationships and highlighting them for mitigation;
- Identify and disseminate information to and from the market / customers, and alert Management on any key market intelligence for consideration and actioning.
- Optimizing all cross-selling opportunities and providing comprehensive financial advice to clients on all services they seek to enjoy with the Bank and facilitating them to access such solutions.
- Innovate and adapt products and services to a range of local market conditions in order to meet the identified customer needs while growing the bank’s collections which include utilities, statutory payments and any other identified opportunities.
- Prepare regular reports to provide management with key information about the allocated portfolio.
- Carry out any other activities that may be assigned to you from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Marketing or a related field;
- Three years of experience in Financial Business Development;
- Strong track record in Relationship Management, Direct Selling and Liability mobilization;
- Solid grasp of the Bank’s business model, its strategy and all of its products and services;
- Good awareness and interpretation of trends in the banking industry and the economy at large.
- Relationship management skills and customer focus;
- Good Business acumen and financial skills;
- Proposal and business case writing skills;
- Networking skills and the ability to build internal and external networks;
- Presentation, verbal and written communication skills;
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work under pressure, and exercise excellent judgment.
