Job Summary:
The Senior Human Resources Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the HR function in alignment with other business units. This comprehensive role encompasses staffing, compensation and benefits, training and development, performance management, policy development, budget preparation, employee engagement, and relations, among others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement HR strategies and initiatives in collaboration with the HR Headquarters Office.
  • Support leadership development through training interventions.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes in collaboration with Hiring Managers.
  • Handle payroll processing, tax compliance, and benefits administration.
  • Guide on employee compensation & benefits, and performance management using the Balance Scorecard tool.
  • Maintain accurate HR reports and employee files, ensuring compliance with labor laws.
  • Participate in HR budgeting and control HR costs.
  • Oversee the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety policies.
  • Promote and enforce organizational values.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business administration, or a related field with a specialization in HR.
  • HR Professional Certification and full membership with the Human Resource Management Association of Uganda.
  • At least five years of experience, with a minimum of two years in a senior HR role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR functions and best practices.
  • Proficiency in HRIS Systems and Microsoft Office Suite; Sage 300 proficiency is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
