Job Summary:
The British Council is seeking several qualified IELTS Speaking Examiners to join their team in Kampala, Uganda. The role involves conducting and marking IELTS Speaking tests in accordance with the standards set by the IELTS Professional Support Network and the British Council.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct IELTS Speaking tests to assess candidates’ oral proficiency in English.
- Mark IELTS Speaking tests accurately, maintaining the integrity and standards of the IELTS exam.
- Stay updated with certification requirements, participating in necessary training, standardization, and certification sessions.
- Comply with IELTS Professional Support Network and British Council policies and procedures.
- Participate in examiner meetings and adhere to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principles.
- Manage information securely and in compliance with information management standards.
- Maintain professionalism in conduct and appearance, aligning with local expectations.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- An undergraduate or Master’s degree, or an equivalent qualification.
- A recognised TESOL qualification as part of a recognised university award course.
- At least three years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) relevant TESOL teaching experience, primarily with adult students (16 years and over).
- Excellent professional attributes and interpersonal skills.
