DKT is looking for dynamic, committed, and success-driven candidates for the position of a Supervising Pharmacist who will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance to regulatory matters and managing submissions, follow-ups, and ensuring requirements are met with the National Drug Authority in Uganda (and other regulatory and Government bodies as required). The Supervising Pharmacist will report to DKT Country Manager.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

Regulatory Affairs and Compliance:

  • Ensure company’s regulatory compliance as it relates to the rules and Laws of Uganda and requirements of the National Drug Authority.
  • Represent the Company in issues as pertains to the National Drug Authority and/or other Government bodies and regularly update the Management on the same; ensure prompt follow up on all matters with NDA.
  • Ensure registrations and requirements related to company’s products are up-to-date and 100% accurate; ensure all required licenses are up-to-date
  • Ensure marketing approvals for DKT products according to brand plans
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and local regulations
  • Coordinating Pharmacovigilance related issues as required with the National Drug Authority, including recalls if required
  • As required, create internal documents and SOPs related to NDA procedures
  • As required, lead or work with outside regulatory consultant on new product registrations, including dossier and application preparation.
  • Orient staff on requirements of the NDA and ensure compliance
  • Other tasks as required related to the company’s regulatory matters

Programs capacity-building activities

  • Lead implementation of training for pharmacy drug shop staff, pharmacists, and other Health Care Workers on SRH, NDA compliance, and DKT products

Support of Distribution and Demand Generation Activities:

  • Support the marketing team in the development of marketing materials to meet consumer needs
  • Support the Medical representatives and marketing team in quality checks and assurance to customers
  • Other activities as required by management to support the business operations.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in pharmacy
  • Minimum of five years working experience as a Pharmacist
  • In-depth knowledge of Ugandan requirements related to pharmaceutical distribution
  • Valid license with National Drug Authority and other authorities as required
