About US:
Joint Medical Store (JMS) is a Church founded private not-for-profit organization whose mission is to supply medicines, medical equipment and related healthcare services, and training of assured quality to the people of Uganda at affordable prices. It was established in 1979 as a joint venture between the Uganda Catholic Medical Bureau (UCMB) and the Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB).
Job Summary: The Technical Representative will conduct support supervision in building sustainable capacity for the management of HIV, malaria and RH commodities across PNFP Health Facilities receiving program commodities from JMS.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide on-job mentorship and regular support supervision of health workers.
- Train health workers in inventory management.
- Report on the field activities
- Provide manuals and tools needed to standardize practices.
- Carry out support supervision and technical assistance to all assigned sites using the SPARS model
- Support ART sites to order through DHIS2/WAOS
- Support facilities to regularly report
- Develop and maintain an accountability system for all products delivered by JMS
- Review and develop operational systems for logistics and related services at the selected health facilities
- Identify and document utilization patterns for commodities at health facilities
- Act as a liaison person between JMS and the different stakeholders in the assigned region and resolve or report any pertinent issues.
- Provide relevant technical support to customers and stakeholders.
- Carry out market surveys to inform decision making on market strategies.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Joint Medical Store (JMS) Technical Representative job must hold a Diploma in Pharmacy, Clinical Medicine, Nursing, or Medical Laboratory Technology
- Good training and experience in marketing of pharmaceutical products is desirable.
- Computer literacy including experience in use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Proven experience in customer and market research.
- Strong clinical knowledge
- Valid class B driving license/Motor Cycle license.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
- Negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated high level of integrity in line with JMS values.
