Uganda Technical College Kicwamba
Uganda Technical College Kichwamba (UTC Kichwamba) is a Government Tertiary Institution of higher learning offering both certificate and diploma courses. UTC Kichwamba was founded in 1947 as an Artisan Training Centre for the resettlement of World war II veterans. In 1971, it was upgraded to level of technical institute and in 1983,it was elevated to its current status of technical college. It is situated about 16 kms on Fort-portal – Bundibugyo road, at the foot of Mt. Rwenzori.
The College has a student population of 577 students and is administered under four departments, namely;
Department of Mechanical Engineering
Department of Building and Civil Engineering
Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Department of Information and Communications Technology
These departments offer several courses from water engineering, plumbing, brick laying, carpentry, electrical installation, welding and metal fabrication, motor vehicle repairs, and computer applications
