Logical Framework Approach To Project Management
Rationale:
Inadequate planning is a persistent fundamental problem in development work. Planning documents, project documents or project proposals are often specific and clear as to the physical and financial inputs, activities and expected physical results, but assessment of the overall objectives, the target groups and external factors which determine success or failure of projects is often lacking. The logical framework approach (LFA) was developed in response to this problem.
Target Group:
Project officers/managers, project analysts/evaluators, community development workers and all those interested in project planning and management.
Objectives:
Participants will be able to:-
Improve their project planning skills by understanding the logical linkage between main project elements (inputs, activities, outputs, purpose and goal objective).
Understand the linkages between policies and projects.
Develop adequate monitoring and evaluation systems.
Foresee factors that are likely to affect the feasibility and sustainability of a project.
Content:
Origin and Importance of the Logical Framework Approach.
Limitations of the logical framework approach in project design, monitoring and evaluation.
Planning with a logical framework approach covering issues such as participation analysis, problem analysis, objectives, analysis, strategy analysis, project elements, external factors, indicators and means of verification.
