How to apply Online for Grade 8:

 Website: www.gdeadmissions.gov.za

 Click on Register

 Terms and Conditions (click on “I Agree” to proceed and then continue)

 Step 1: Enter Parent/Legal Guardian Details (Valid I.D. / Passport / Permit)

 Must have a valid (working) cell phone number

 Create Username (example: Mary1)

 Create Password (example: P@ss2018) must be 8 characters, consisting of a Capital Letter, Small Letters, Numbers and a Special Character.

 Parent will receive Sms with Username and Password for login (please keep safe)

 Step 2: Enter Learner Details (Valid Birth Certificate / Passport / Permit)

 Language is asked but is not a criteria

 Grade 7 parents must complete “Previous School”

 Step 3: Application Page (apply to a school)

 Maximum of 5 applications per learner (1^st application automatically selects closest school to address irrespective of Language)

 NB: The ranking of the applications for admission shall be in the order of the following categories

(a) The applicant learner’s place of residence is closest to the school within the feeder zone;

(b) The applicant learner has a sibling attending the school;

(c) The place of employment of at least one of the applicant learner’s parents is within the feeder zone of the school;

(d) The applicant learner’s place of residence is within a 30 kilometre radius of the school; or

(e) The applicant learner’s place of residence is beyond a 30 kilometre radius of the school

*** Submit documents to ALL schools applied for to COMPLETE application ***

Documents to submit to schools:

 Certified copy of Valid Birth Certificate / Passport / Permit of learner

 Certified copy of LATEST school report of learner

 Certified copy of Parent/Legal Guardian Valid I.D. / Passport / Permit

 If not biological parent – Proof of legal guardianship

 Certified copy of Electricity Account (Ekurhuleni Account) or Lease Contract to confirm address (not older than 3 months)

 Certified copy of HR Letter to confirm employment and work address (if applicable)

 Proof of sibling (if applicable)

 Certified copy of divorce decree (if applicable)
