About University of Kwazulu-Natal School of Nursing
The School of Nursing and Public Health (SONPH), headed by Professor Busi Ncama, arose from a grouping of the Public Health disciplines derived from the Nelson R. Mandela School of Medicine (Faculty of Medicine) and the old School of Nursing derived from the Faculty of Health Sciences.
The School consists of 7 disciplines, 1 from the Faculty of Health Sciences and 6 from the Faculty of Medicine. The Disciplines are as follows:
The Disciplines within this School also contribute to the MBChB programme.
The School is currently comprised of 46 full-time permanent academic staff, 26 support staff members and 6 technical staff. It has over 120 part-time academic staff and 8 support staff on fixed term appointments.
