Baptist Theological College of Southern Africa Courses, Baptist Theological College of Southern Africa (BTC), located in Randburg, South Africa, was established in 1951 by the Baptist Union of Southern Africa to prepare pastors for Baptist churches. The College Principal is Prof. Martin Pohlmann.

BTC’s focus has broadened significantly since its founding to include the training of youth pastors and missionaries. The narrow denominational focus has also changed, and the college now welcomes students from all denominational and church backgrounds who are willing to accept its statement of faith.

The College offers certificate and diploma courses, as well as the degrees of Bachelor of Theology (4 years of study) and Master of Theology. The College is registered with the Department of Education as a Higher Education Institution, and its programmes are accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE).

The mission of BTC Southern Africa is to offer people called to Christian ministry a biblically-based, relevant theological education, which focuses on devotional integritypractical competence and academic excellence. This theological education is shaped by our commitment to the inspired Word of God and our belief that the Church can, and should, be relevant in current society.

In 1951 the Baptist Union of Southern Africa established The Baptist Theological College of Southern Africa. Its goal then was to prepare pastors for Baptist churches. Over the years the college has established itself as one of the premier ministry training institutions in the country with a growing global footprint. The focus has broadened significantly to include the training of pastors, youth pastors, missionaries and leaders of various ministries within the local church.

BTC welcomes students from all denominational and church backgrounds who are willing to accept our statement of faith. We curently have many students from other denominations and a healthy balance generationally on-campus.
