Since we are also active in business and commerce, we would like to make a contribution to the Learnership programmes by not only employing learners but to provide the basic educational and practical training elements for other companies that do not have the necessary training capabilities or facilities, or lack in breadth or practical, or on the job, skills training opportunities.
We believe effective learning must result in competent practices and therefore student participation and practical assignments must take precedence over mere theoretical knowledge, especially at the level where we are active e.g. NQF 1- 4. Competency comes trough understanding and doing, without proficiency in the latter we would not have served our students well. Projects and analytical skills must be part of the assessment process. That also involves proper business principles and understanding of the philosophy of business as well as the processes involved
