Department of Labour Learnership in South Africa 2024-2025

This Government department?helps individuals and companies to regulate working conditions and terms. To ensure everyone is treated equally and fairly, they work together with multiple companies to aid in providing skilled workers into a needy workforce. The Department of Labour Learnerships helps to educate?and assist with training talented individuals.

In all they do, they aid in fulfilling the Governments ?National Skills Development Strategy? Plan. This includes the development of high-quality learning opportunities, employment growth, and skills development in the formal sectors, development of small businesses, social development and aiding the youth to become part of the workforce.

These learnerships call for the youth between 16 and 35. Candidates must not be currently employed and willing to enter into an agreement period as stipulated by the learnership available. Many of these learnerships will be advertised, be it via the newspapers, community centers, or the Labour Department website. Candidates are urged to look at learnerships within their skills range, as well as in their area.

Requirements

Candidates must be permanent South African residents and citizens.? Candidates must include a detailed curriculum vitae with contact details. Ensure you have contactable references, as well as any information you feel may be appropriate to the application.? Please also include certified copies of all relevant certificates and ID Document.

Candidates will be required to provide the following:

  • Candidates must have Matric
  • Be proficient in English, read, write and speak
  • Computer literacy is an added advantage
  • Candidates must not have a permanent employment
  • Be self-motivated and a team player
  • Candidates must have good communication skills
  • Flexibility with a commitment to learn, but moreover willingness to work
  • Candidates must show skills in problem-solving, time management, planning and conflict resolution
  • Candidates must not have participated in any other learnership

Candidates can, however, register at the department?s new division (ESSA) via this link, once registered candidates can see what learnerships are available at present or visit the Department of Labour‘s website. Candidates will be required to complete a Z83 application form. This form?is collectible at each of the Provincial offices of the Department.

Applications that are not filled in completely, missing a signature, missing documentation or are received late, will not be considered. Only short-listed candidates will be contacted.
