VARSITY COLLEGE ADMISSION GUIDELINES AND FORMS

Application to VC is basically online by following the following steps stated below.

Step 1
  • Go to the Varsity College website

Step 2

  • Find out what The IIE’s Varsity College has to offer you by filling in an inquiry form, or by engaging with Ed our full-time study inquiry bot, or Pam our part-time study inquiry bot, on the website or on Facebook. One of our Student Advisors will then contact you to discuss which qualifications would best suit you based on your career ambitions and abilities.

  • We encourage prospective full-time students to come onto campus for their interview, for an experience of our safe and secure campuses, student life, sports offering, accommodation and more. To book your appointment click here. Prospective part-time students can opt for a telephonic appointment by requesting call-me-back on the website, chatting live with one of our consultants, or contacting one of our 8 campuses directly.

Step 4

  • Apply without delay if you feel that you have all the information you need about the qualification you want to study at The IIE’s Varsity College. Our small classes fill up quickly, the sooner you apply, the sooner we can secure your place if you meet the admission requirements.

Step 5

  • Once you’ve completed your application and paid your application fee, it will take a period of about 2 weeks for our campus to issue you with a conditional acceptance letter, that’s subject to you meeting admission requirements.

Step 6

  • In order to register you must have completed your application first. Full-time applications for IIE degree studies close on 15 November . Thereafter, a late application fee will be levied. IIE diploma & higher certificate applications do not have a cut-off date, but spaces fill up fast. Apply early to avoid disappointment. Registration for full-time studies opens on 2 December for all new students.
  • There is no application cut-off date for part-time 1st semester studies, but applications are accepted on a first come basis. Registration opens on 2 December  for all new students.

UPLOAD SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION

Everyone applying for a new qualification must submit the required documents (all first-time applicants and VC students starting a new qualification). The due date for uploading the required documents is the closing date for applications. No documents submitted after the closing date for applications will be accepted.
VC does not provide scanners or electronic devices. Please ensure that your documents are scanned and uploaded to an electronic device before starting the application process.

VARSITY COLLEGE APPLICATION FEE

Pay the application fee once you’ve received a student number from VC

  • Please note that in order to process your Diploma or Higher Certificate Full Time application a non-refundable fee of R400 is required. For Full Time Degree applicants – post 15 November Degree application closing date – R1750 will be levied as a late application fee. Fees are payable online or through EFT.
  • For Part-Time programmes, Please note that in order to process your application – a non-refundable fee of R250 is required – payable online or via EFT.
  • Please note that only a limited number of students can be accepted to programmes at Varsity College each academic year. As a result Varsity College postgraduate applications close on 17 January. It is in your best interests to apply without delay. If you are an applicant from an institution other than the Independent Institute of Education – this application must be accompanied by a non-refundable application fee of R 400.

This fee is non-refundable even if you decide not to study through VC, do not qualify for admission to VC or cannot be offered a space due to limited spaces available. VC does not accept cash at any of its offices.
The due date for the application fee is the closing date for the application period. Any application submitted without an application fee paid on time will not be processed. Please ensure that you keep a copy of your proof of payment.
Make sure that your application is complete
If your application for admission to study through VC is incomplete, you will have to re-apply during the next application period.

VC APPLICATION REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

All applicants starting a new qualification must upload all the required documents, which generally consists of the following:

  • 2 Academic Reference forms bearing stamp of previous school.
  •  Certified copy of passport or ID or any form of Identification showing biographical
    data & expiry date
  • Verified and certified copies of Educational Certificates/Transcripts excluding PSLE and JC Certificates.
  • Evaluation or Conversion certificate from Examination Council of Lesotho (Ecol) for
    Matriculates. Foreign internationals who sat for GCSE e.g. LGCSE, IGCSE or equivalent do not need to evaluate.
  • A passport size photo
