Rhodes University NRF Honours Bursaries
The National Research Foundation (NRF) awards bursaries to students pursuing full-time, Honours studies at South African public universities in . Postgraduate Diplomas are not funded via these programmes.
The Freestanding and Innovation bursaries are funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Scarce Skills and National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) Pipeline bursaries are funded by Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) through the National Skills Fund (NSF).
Eligibility:
- Honours full time .
- South African citizens and South African permanent residents only.
- For more details applicants must read the NRF Honours Bursaries Framework Document which highlights the eligibility criteria and requirements for each funding category.
Process:
Students must submit an application on the NRF Online Submission System at: https://nrfsubmission.nrf.ac.za and follow the application process set out in the Framework Document and Application Guide.

Documents (such as ID and course record) must be certified, and if not, the application will be regretted. So please ensure that you adhere to all requirements as per the guide to maximize your chances.

Closing Date:
The submission deadline for applicants is 4 December for funding in the academicyear.
Funding outcomes will be communicated between February and March .
