St Peter’s College follows the Independent Education Board (IEB) curriculum.

Many students are attracted to St Peter’s College because we accommodate most subject combinations.

Grade 8 to 9 subject list

  1. Home Language: English
  2. 1st Additional Language (Choose one): Afrikaans, isiZulu
  3. Mathematics
  4. Natural Science
  5. Human Social Sciences (Geography and History)
  6. Technology
  7. Creative Arts: Music, Art, Dance and Drama (Grade 8 and 9s choose two)
  8. Economic Life Skills (Economic Management Sciences and Life Orientation combined)
  9. Optional 2nd additional language: French

Grade 10 to 12 subject list

During the last term in Grade 9, the Grade Head and Academic Head host a subject-choice information evening for all Grade 9 students. The choice of subject groups to ensure a matric exemption certificate is discussed.

In order to attain a National Senior Certificate, students must study seven subjects. Four subjects are compulsory and three are electives:

  4. Life Orientation

Elective subjects

Choose three subjects from the following:

  • Physical Science (may only be selected with Core Mathematics)
  • Engineering Graphics and Design (EGD)
  • Dramatic Arts
  • Music
  • Visual Art

Academic extension

We offer Advanced Programmes (AP) from Grade 10 to Matric:

  1. AP English
  2. AP Afrikaans
  3. AP Mathematics (Student must maintain 80%+ average in Core Mathematics to qualify)

SUNDRY CHARGES

Registration Fee of R550 is to be paid when the enrolment application form is submitted.

Foreign Student Levy of R600 per annum is applicable to all foreign students for administration.

Lunch makes provision for a meal at midday.

A separate Sibling Fees Schedule is available on request.

Please budget for other costs such as uniforms, textbooks, camps, tours etc. that are not included on this schedule.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

1.Annual Payment – Full payment is due by 14 December 2018 to qualify for 6% tuition early settlement rebate and 14 January 2019 to qualify for 5% early settlement rebate. Direct payment can be made directly into the school’s bank account.

2.Termly Payment – 3 payments per annum, payable by debit order on or before the first day of each term, failing which interest will be charged. Payments may only be made by termly debit order.

3.Monthly Payment/ Debit Order – 11 payments per annum. Monthly payments may only be paid via debit order. The full year’s Tuition, Development Levy and PA Levy is split over 11 months and is payable from January to November.

4.Debit orders are processed on the last working day of the month. The last debit order of each term will be adjusted as necessary to cover sundries and interest accumulated during that term. Please complete the debit order form if you elect the TERMLY or MONTHLY payment option and send it back to Tshepo Kekana on kekanat@stpeterscollege.co.za for relevant arrangements to be made you’re your respective bank.

5.Please note that interest is payable if fees are not paid upfront annually or termly. The interest rate payable is prime +2%.

PLEASE NOTE

1.Tuition Fees, Lunch, Development Levy and PA Levy are charged and payable on the first day of each term.

2.A full term’s written notice, or fees in lieu thereof, is required for the discontinuance of ANY facility offered by the school.

3.A deposit, equivalent to one term’s tuition fee, is required to secure a place. This deposit and the Development Levy are refundable when the student leaves the College, provided a full term’s notice has been received and fees are up to date.

NB: If a term’s written notice is not given then a term’s tuition fee will be charged in lieu of notice.

APPLY FOR A PLACE

Once your form is complete with the required documentation and proof of payment for the R550 application registration fee, select submit. The application registration fee payment can be made via Snapscan too. Please upload a screenshot of the ‘successful payment’ screen with your application form.

TIMELINES AND PROCESS

We recommend that you apply for a place at St Peter’s College when your child is in at least Grade 4 or Grade 5. Early application will increase your child’s chances of securing a place.

Process:

  1. Complete and submit an enrolment application form together with the required documentation to admissions@stpeterscollege.co.za.
  2. Your application will be acknowledged and placed on the waiting list in accordance with the admissions policy.
  3. We recommend you attend at least one Open Day (annually, usually in March and August)
  4. You will be contacted in the first quarter of your child’s Grade 7 year to schedule an interview with the headmaster or deputy heads.
  5. Based on your application credentials, interview, confidential report from your child’s current school and credit check, you may receive a place offer.
  6. On acceptance, and in accordance with the guidelines set out by the Independent Education Board (IEB), you will be required to pay a deposit equivalent to one term’s tuition fee. This deposit is fully refunded to you when your child completes matric.
