Mthatha Campus Overview
Walter Sisulu University runs 186 academic programmes accredited by the Council of Higher Learning. WSU is a university of technology in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape.
The Mthatha campus of Walter Sisulu University has two delivery sites:
- Nelson Mandela Drive
- Zamukulungisa Heights.

Buffalo City – Overview
The Buffalo City Campus has seven delivery sites:
- Potsdam
- College Street
- Camridge Street
- Chiselhurst
- Bhisho
- Absa Stadium
- Heritage Building.
The Buffalo City Campus’s Potsdam site is the main site and is situated in the luscious Eastern Cape countryside.
It is ideally situated in the Border Region to serve the students of Eastern Cape who would have travelled far to study and encouraged further migration of educated people.
This campus boasts modern buildings and green landscaped surroundings with a natural spring around which the campus was designed.
Residences
This campus has residential facilities for students which are normally filled to capacity.
Facilities
- Up to 20 sports offered including soccer, netball tennis rugby
- Indoor sports: basketball, volleyball, karate and aerobics
- The Great Hall has a capacity of 800; it is used for sports or formal functions
- Health Services Unit.

Butterworth Campus Overview
The Butterworth Campus serves mainly the disadvantaged rural areas with a delivery site at Ibika.
It lies about 5 km away from the relatively small town of Butterworth. The countryside surrounding this small town is very beautiful and it has a fair share of tourist attractions.
The University campus serves mostly the food industry.

WSU Butterworth Campus has three faculties that offer 35 programmes of study that includes BA Technology Degrees:
