The Dean is responsible for all academic programs, research, linkages and administrative functions of the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, including the following:

  • Providing overall leadership to the School of Pharmacy & Health Sciences
  • Driving the continuing development of the School’s extensive activities
  • Promoting quality instruction delivery to students.
  • Leading the School in its professional and academic mission and being responsible for the formulation and implementation of strategies that are expected to grow its teaching and research success and its financial stability.
  • Developing the School’s academic plans in line with the overall strategic plan of the University.
  • Attracting qualified faculty and professionals, who are innovative and imaginative in nature and function to aid in producing high calibre graduates from the School’s degree programs.

DR. BETTY N. MBATIA
Assistant Professor of Biochemistry & Biotechnology 
Monitoring quality of teaching and learning environment on a day-to-day basis including:

Collecting, interpreting and presenting data on performance of current degree programs on a semester by semester basis and advice school on the same, Supporting university’s effort to recruit and retain student in the program, Supporting and coordinating faculty (both fulltime and adjunct) to perform their work efficiently, resolving students’ academic issues, coordinating curriculum development activities, examining documentation in course files and evaluating faculty performance, participating in faculty recruitment to ensure that the required standards are met, lead faculty in the development of program research agenda and execution of the same, Liaise with the Dean and Research office in developing program linkages with other universities, research institutions and research project sponsors, assist the Dean in preparing the program for statutory accreditation report/assessments and program reviews.

RUTH NJERI MWAI
Principal Academic Advisor, School of Pharmacy & Health Sciences
Roles:-

Assisting the Dean in day-to-day tasks include ensuring appropriate course scheduling and allocation, Managing the school assets and monitoring movement of the same, Handling credit transfers and course substitution requests by students, Handling student grade appeals and grade change requests, Assisting in the management of course files, Ensuring efficient management of teaching support services and facilities and Ensuring appropriate allocation of office, equipment and classroom space.
