County Government of Kakamega Chief Executive Officer Jobs in Kenya
Duties and Responsibilities
- The Chief Executive Officer will be the Accounting Officer and will be responsible for effective and efficient management of the Kakamega Microfinance Corporation.
- He/she will report to the Chairperson of the Board of Kakamega Microfinance Corporation.
Specific duties and responsibilities will include:
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Corporation;
- Develop and implement business strategies, policies and procedures, and operating plans that reflect the long-term corporate goals and priorities as established by the Board of Directors;
- Plan, implement, monitor and evaluate the Corporation’s programs and plans;
- Ensure provision of effective and efficient services to satisfy the needs of customers and the shareholders for growth and return on investment;
- Initiate Resource mobilization strategies for the Corporation;
- Enhance Corporate culture within the Corporation to one that is more consistent with private and public sector principles and practices;
- Develop and maintain good public relations with the development partners, community, customers and other stakeholders;
- Advise the Board of Directors on the objectives and policies as they relate to credit, finance, marketing and legal affairs of the Corporation;
- Prepare quarterly reports to the Board of Directors on actual performance of the Corporation;
- Responsible for the management of the Human Resources to achieve the strategic objectives of the Corporation; and
- Develop and implement performance improvement strategies of the Corporation’s operations.
Requirements for Appointment
For Appointment to this grade, one must:
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Commerce, Finance, Accounting or any other related field from a university recognized in Kenya;
- A Bachelor Degree in Economics, Commerce, Finance, Business Administration or Management; Accounting, Social Sciences or any other related field from a University recognized in Kenya;
- Have knowledge and work experience of not less than ten (10) years, five (5) of which must have been at a senior management level in a related field;
- Membership to a relevant professional body;
- Strategic leadership Development Programme certification lasting not less than six (6) weeks or equivalent from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
- Have knowledge and a clear understanding of Microfinance Sector operations; and
- Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and Integrity.
