History Of Kabarak University – Check Below:
October 2001:
Interim Letter of Authority: The University was granted a Letter of Interim Authority by the Government of Kenya through the Commission for Higher Education on 16 October 2001, therefore allowing the institution to award degrees.
October 2002:
Opening of the University: Kabarak University was established in October 2002 by the second President of Kenya,His Excellency Daniel Arap Moi,who is also the Chancellor.This was as a result of his visionary idea of setting up a Christian University that would meet the demand for higher education in Kenya and offer quality education based on string moral principles.
November 2005:
University first Graduation Ceremony: The University held is first graduation ceremony where more than 200 students graduated with different degrees. Since then the university has graduated over 2,000 students.
May 2008:
University Accreditation: On 16 May, 2008 the university was awarded the Charter by the Third President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency Mwai Kibaki, making it a fully-fledged accredited university.
November 2014:
Kabarak Online Launch (KABUO): Kabarak Univesity Online was officialy opened by H.E the Second President of Kenya H.E Daniel T. arap Moi. Kabarak University Online offers online training for organizations and individuals in Africa. Its beneficiaries are either working professionals or continuing students
June 2017:
Ground breaking Referral Hospital: The construction of a Sh45 billion state-of-the-art Kabarak University Referral Mission Hospital is expected to be a game-changer in cancer treatment in the region. Kabarak University Wednesday launched construction of the teaching, research and referral hospital in an elaborate groundbreaking ceremony at Kabarak Grounds. In a speech read on his behalf by Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, Kabarak University founder and Chancellor, former President Daniel arap Moi said the facility would offer world-class medical care to all Kenyans. The referral hospital, which is expected to start operations in 2020, is set to revolutionize health services in the country and reduce cases of Kenyans seeking healthcare abroad.
