  • UHAI EASHRI is Africa’s first indigenous activist fund for and by sexual and gender minorities and sex workers. Established in 2009, we have grown to fund civil society organising in 7 countries across the greater Eastern Africa region—Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda—and we also fund, partner with, and grow mission aligned Pan-African human rights organising across the continent. We provide our community partners funding through flexible and accessible, peer-reviewed grantmaking; and we complement funding with capacity support, and support for activist-led convening.
  • UHAI’s website requires a redesign to meet our current and prospective needs. Our working languages are English, French and Swahili and as such our website is multilingual.

    Role of the consultant

    We are seeking a consultancy firm to:

  • Determine user needs through consultation with our stakeholders.
  • Determine website accessibility for access to users with disabilities.
  • Strengthen the multilingual component of our website.
  • Develop wireframes that meet the proposed user experience needs from our stakeholders.
  • Website redesign in accordance with the wireframe.
  • Ensure website responsiveness.
  • SEO optimisation.
  • The consultant will work in cooperation with the Partnerships and Communication team.

    How to Apply

  • Applicants are invited from suitably qualified firms with required experience in building multilingual websites and experience working with a human rights organisation/civil society organisation preferred.

  • Curriculum Vitae of the key staff members who will be working on the project.
  • Recommendation letters from 3 clients you’ve worked with on similar projects.
  • A summary work plan for the proposed 25 days and itemised cost.
