CHS Local Consultant Jobs in Kenya
- Centre for Health Solutions – Kenya (CHS) is an indigenous not-for-profit organisation that utilises local expertise and strategic partnerships to ensure the implementation of evidence- informed solutions and interventions to existing and emerging public health concerns.
- CHS works in partnership with various stakeholders including the Ministry of Health’s Division of National Tuberculosis, Leprosy and Lung Disease Program (DNTLD-P) towards implementation of TB care and control activities across the country. This is part of a US Government initiative against TB in Kenya that receives funding from USAID to implement the Kenya Tuberculosis Accelerated Response and Care II (TB ARC II) program.
- The National prevalence survey conducted in 2015/2016, found an overall National prevalence of 426/100,000 and demonstrated that Kenya misses approximately 40% of people with TB. The Ministry of Health’s strategic focus is to reduce the burden of lung disease and render Kenya free of TB and leprosy. DNTLD-P has been implementing the National Strategic Plan 2019- 2020 whose approach is targeted, patient centred on prevention, diagnosis, treatment and quality care. This NSP also reflects evidence-based prioritisation of resource allocation to find the missing people with TB, close gaps along the patient pathway, provide timely and quality diagnosis, treat and prevent TB in all high risk populations.
- It is for this reason that the DNTLD-P intends to conduct an independent mid-term assessment of the programmatic implementation of the 2019-2023 NSP in order to take stock of the progress made, outcomes, document the bottlenecks and propose recommendations.
