DIPLOMA TEACHERS EDUCATION (DTE)

A candidate must take TWO TEACHING SUBJECTS and PROFESSIONAL in support subjects
The course duration is three years Practical teaching will be undertaken for two terms. To be awarded a DTE certificate, the candidate should have successfully completed the Practical Teaching (TP). Evaluation The Examinations will be conducted externally by the KNEC.
REGULATIONS FOR THE DTE COURSE (Entry Requirement)
The entry requirement for DTE should be KCSE
- C+ (plus) mean grade,
- C+ (plus) in the subject’s specialization,
- C (plain) in Mathematics for those taking Science, 5. D+ (plus) in Mathematics for those taking Humanities,
- C (plain) in English for all applicants.

Visually impaired candidates will be allowed to opt for either Home Science or Mathematics instead of Art and Craft.
Candidates with Hearing Impairment only will be allowed to sit for Kenya Sign Language instead of KISWAHILI.
Teaching Practice -All PTE Candidates Must Take And Pass Teaching Practice To Qualify For A PTE Certificate.
