Our client, a leading transport solutions provider with a wide network and vast experience in logistics services that include Air charters (Air Cargo), Road Cargo Transportation, Courier Services, and Clearing & forwarding is urgently seeking to recruit a talented, result oriented and experienced Assistant Finance Manager.
The successful candidate is be based in Juba, South Sudan and will reporting to the Finance Manager.
You will take ownership of management accounting, financial control and performance analysis.
You will also collaborate senior colleagues and provide them with information to support sound commercial decision making by performing the following duties;
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage workflow by assigning tasks to members of the Finance Team.
- Develop the annual Company budget; review and validate annual Company budget; create a variety of spreadsheets, documents, and graphs; assist in preparing the final budget document for approval by Directors.
- Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports; Income statement at regular periodic intervals as per the requirement of the Management
- Review and audit all accounts payables/receivables, purchase orders, invoices, payment vouchers cash receipts, business licenses, and other accounting records and transactions; ensure money is posted to correct accounts in SAGE software under GL Posting
- Ensure preparation of reconciliations – Bank, Customer, Vendor and related journal entries for a variety of accounts.
- Ensure all timely statutory compliance relating Finance
- Ensure to keep all costs under control through various financial reports to Management and advise relevant stake holders to take necessary checks and measures to control costs according to business trends and budgets
- Prepare necessary Financial policies and Manuals to ensure adherence accounting Standards
- Advise management on various financial results, transactions and projects to ensure a healthy financial growth
- Ensure submission of Daily Fund Reports by the Finance Team
- Ensure submission Weekly and monthly report on Accounts Receivables and Payables
- Ensure submission of weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
- Ensure submission of Weekly and Monthly Sales Registers
- Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly MIS Reports –
- Aging reports on receivables and payables
- Income Statement or Profit and Loss Account
- Variance Report based on actual and budgeted results
- Preparing of relevant annual reports for management consumption
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Key Competencies & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business management with professional qualifications in Finance or Accounting, CPA (K) or ACCA, Membership – ICPAK
- Must have at least 8 years’ experience in accounting (IFRS) or finance with 3 years in senior management position
- Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change.
- Clear thinking / problem solving successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvement within operations/finance function involving process improvement ideas.
- Excellent communication skills: able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy to understand manner and able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing.
- Confidence / Assertiveness: strong influencing skills across business functions; confidence to approach business leaders with difficult messages and defend position.
- Adaptable/flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations.
- Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others.
