Job Summary: Our client is a recycling firm in Nairobi.
They are seeking to hire a Communications and Marketing Manager who will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a robust strategic marketing and communications program.
This program’s goal is to ensure that the company is seen as a leader in quality, end-to-end waste management and recycling services in the region.
Reporting directly to the CEO of the company, this position is responsible for the effective execution of the marketing strategies and initiatives, the brand management and content distribution strategies, email marketing, advertising, partnership development, and managing overall execution of the marketing communications goals.
The manager will also serve as the media relations expert and help to establish the company as a thought leader to a broader audience.
Through integrated marketing communications, this position will establish and grow the visibility of the company’s brand and initiatives to the larger community.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage strategic proactive media outreach by identifying Company’s brand awareness opportunities; take initiative to act upon these opportunities to achieve results. Manage relationships with media to create future opportunities.
- Manage the execution of all marketing initiatives and programs.
- Oversee organization’s email marketing campaigns for all departments and programs.
- Oversee the digital and social media strategy, including the evolving digital market and contribute new ideas to enhance the organization’s social presence. Analyze, synthesize and strategy-adapt based on data and metrics provided.
- Identify trends and leverage opportunities within the industry, through the use of social and digital tools and channels.
- Lead assignments to support the strategic vision of Company’s develop recommendations of marketing activities to increase revenue.
- Manage projects and campaigns including coordinating with vendors and managing the communication’s team supporting staff members.
- Lead and provide strategic direction on new projects. Manage and prioritize staff time to fulfil cyclical as well as new projects as needed.
- Manage vendor and consultant relationships including metrics and reporting.
- Oversees the creation of marketing materials including managing graphic design projects to completion and acts as brand liaison to the organization to ensure consistent brand voice, vision, and aesthetic are achieved.
- Manage all internal department relationships and project needs for the communications team.
- Provide added-value service training for clients, potential clients or suppliers as and when needed
Job Requirements
- Bachelor degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism or a related field,
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in communications and marketing, required
- Experience managing online campaigns, media relations and email marketing campaigns, required,
- Experience managing social media communities for brands, required
- Print and online advertising experience, preferred
- Experience managing staff and vendor relationships, preferred
- Experience executing email and social media outreach to targeted audience segments, required
- Excellent understanding of marketing principles in detail including Segment Value Propositions and Brand marketing.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and planning skills as well as capability to work across Business Units and functionally in a Matrix environment.
- Understanding of marketing concepts.
- Modern skills in dynamics in marketing
