For admission into programmes of study at the Technical University of Mombasa, TUM for any first degree or second degree, an applicant must have the following requirements for a successful admission.

Entry requirements for a Undergraduate degree Programme
Applicants should meet either of the following or equivalent
Mean grade of C+ (plus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) OR other qualifications recognized by the Academic Board.
A diploma from a recognized examining body or institution and in a field relevant to the programme sought at TUM.
A Certificate taking 2 years and above from a recognized examining body or institution and in a field relevant to the programme sought at TUM.
A Pre-university College Certificate from a recognized institution.
Division II and above in O-level.
Entry requirements for Diploma Programme
Mean grade of C (plain) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) OR other qualifications recognized by the Academic Board.
A certificate from a credible institution (6 months and above) and in a field relevant to a programme sought at TUM.
A Pre-university College Certificate from a recognized institution.
Div. III in O-Level.
Entry requirements for Certificate Programmes
Mean grade of C-(minus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) OR other qualifications recognized by the Academic Board.
A craft course from a credible institution (6 months and above) and in a field relevant to a programme sought at TUM.
A Pre-university College Certificate from a recognized institution.
Div. IV in O-Level.

Entry requirements for a Postgraduate degree Programme
A Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited University in a subject or subjects relevant to the course applied for.
Duration of Programme: 1 Academic Year
Entry requirements for a Masters degree Programme
Hold a bachelor’s degree with second class honor division in relevant courses
