Job Details:

  • Are you a qualified, self-motivated Kenyan citizen looking for an opportunity to be part of a dedicated public service team? We are looking for you to filling the following vacant positions:
    Enforcement Officers (Legal) – GRADE 6 (2 POSITIONS ON PERMANENT & PENSIONABLE TERMS)
  • Reporting to the Principal Surveillance and Enforcement Officer, the successful candidates will work under the supervision of senior officers to carry out surveillance and inspection of sites, facilities and licensees to ensure there are no contraventions in the sector, and taking appropriate enforcement actions in cases of contraventions, prosecuting cases as well as representation in court when required. .

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supporting functions and activities in implementation of applicable standards, codes and frameworks in Kenya;

    • Handling litigation matters and drafting of legal documents:

    • Preparation of court documents,

    • Representation in court,

    • Drafting proposals for review of codes, Standards and frameworks in the Country,

    • Coordinating functions and activities towards effective collaboration and partnerships with stakeholders

    • Preparing drafts on procedures, rules or guidelines for the sector;

    • Participating in conducting compliance checks on all related areas works and services;

    • Conducting investigations towards allegations of contravention of frameworks

    • Conducting investigations on complaints and suspicion of contraventions, and

    • Investigating accidents and reporting accordingly.

    Qualifications & Skills required

    • A Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution:

    • A Postgraduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law;

    • Current practicing certificate,

    • Admission as an advocate of the High Court

    of Kenya;

    • Membership of the Law Society of Kenya,

    • Proficiency in computer applications

    • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution

    • Personal attributes such as report and minutes writing skills, communication skills, interpersonal and negotiation skills, and a team player.

    Mandatory Requirements

    All applicants MUST provide the following documents on application;

    • A Signed application letter,

    • A detailed CV indicating their current and previous employers, positions held, current and expected salary, level of education and names of at least three professional referees;

    • Copies of academic and professional certificates, and

    • Copy of National Identification Card or Passport

  • Salary and benefits offered shall be guided by the prevailing organization policies on remuneration.
