The School of law was established in 2009 upon the inception of the Bachelor of Laws programme in 2008. Since its establishment, the School has had a centralized administrative and management structure, with the Dean being the administrative and academic head, assisted by the School Academic Board. The school has recently established departments to enhance service delivery to our students .The student population at the School has grown from the pioneer intake of 80 to the current number of over 2,000 during the 2015/2016 Academic Year.

The Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology School of Law was established in 2008.  The School is situated at the Karen Campus of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, which is located in the leafy suburbs of Karen off Bogani Road. The School is located at the ACE Building in a serene environment conducive for learning. It holds a moot court, well furnished classrooms with internet access, computer room for access of e-library materials, lecturers’ offices, an administrative office, a boardroom and a cafeteria.

The mission of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology School of Law is to offer accessible quality legal education training, research and innovation to prepare graduates with appropriate knowledge, skills and professional competence to provide legal services in all fields, but with particular focus on the fields of Agriculture, Engineering, Technology, Enterprise Development, Built Environment, Health Sciences and other Applied Sciences to suit the needs of a dynamic world, while the vision of the School is to be an institution of global excellence in legal education, training, research and innovation for development.

The first Bachelor of Laws students were admitted into the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology School of Law in 2008 and graduated in 2011.  The school has so far produced more than 500 graduates, some of whom are already flying the JKUAT flag as practicing advocates.

The Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology School of Law comprises a faculty of ten full-time members, most of whom are renowned lawyers with vast experience in the field of law. The School makes use of a wide resource base of part-time lecturers with expertise in varied subject areas of Law.

The School of Law is located at JKUAT Karen Campus, which is on Pala Close, off Bogani Road.
