Kabarak Law School.

Kabarak Law School [KLS] was established in 2010 and is emerging as one of the finest research intense law schools in Kenya and Africa. It has so far the leading student publications in Kenya and publishes internationally recognized reviewed journals. It is situated in the cool Great Rift Valley a serene environment that enables students and scholars to acquire and disseminate intelligence in law with view to promoting the rule of law and social justice under super tranquility.

KLS is reputable in Kenya and is increasingly becoming a preferred research destination for scholars from Europe, America, Australia and Asia. It is also a preferred study destination for students in Kenya and East Africa-it has a rich curriculum in law with a niche on good governance. KLS is attracting domestic and international scholarship because of institutional support to research and scholarship. It has an ambitious fellowship programme run by its Centre for Jurisprudence & Constitutional Studies through which visiting professors and other reputable scholars are engaged in its research projects.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

A KCSE C+ with B plain in English or a recognized degree with KCSE B plain in English- Main campus-Tuition Fees per semester KSHS 100,000

A person is not eligible for eligible for admission for the Post Graduate Diploma (advocate training programme at the Kenya School of Law) unless that person has:

  • Passed the relevant examination of any recognised University in Kenya, he holds or has become eligible for the conferment of the Bachelor of Laws degree(LLB) of that university
  • Passed the relevant examination of the university, University college or other institution prescribed by the council, he holds or has become eligible for the conferment of the Bachelor of Law degree(LLB) in the grant of that university, university college or other institution, had prior to enrolling at that university, university college or other institution:
    • Attained a minimum entry requirement for admission to a university in Kenya;
    • A minimum grade B(plain) in English language and a mean grade of C (plus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination or its equivalent
  • A bachelor of laws degree (LLB) from a recognised university and attained a minimum grade of C+ (C plus) in English and a minimum aggregate grade of C(plain) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination, holds a higher qualification e.g. ‘A’ levels, ‘IB’ , relevant ‘relevant ‘Diploma’, other ‘undergraduate degree’ or has attained a higher degree in law after the undergraduate studies in the Bachelor of Laws Programme;
  • A bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from recognized university and attained a minimum grade of C- (C minus) in English and a minimum aggregate grade of C-(C minus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination set by the Council of Legal Education as a pre-condition for admission.

Intakes

KLS has two intakes each calendar year for its Bachelor of Law Programme.
The first intake is in May and second in August.
It runs a semester system with a semester break between January and April.

The school of law provides scholarship for excellent academic performance and this is in form of awards and others as the senate might decide from time to time.
