About the Job:
- We are looking for a Content Design Manager. This individual will be a dynamic, hands-on learning expert with a love for technology to drive learning initiatives through effective content design, content authoring and administration of the Sama learning management systems.
- Reporting to the Senior Director – People Operations and L & D, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and evaluating innovative and engaging learning programs in close partnership with and supporting training delivery objectives. You will manage our external and internal facing programs, provide consultation on the learning platforms, and develop and implement learning strategies that support the strategic objectives of the team and the organization to help our employees advance their careers, skills and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a high-performing Learning Content and Technology team.
- Oversee the research, testing and implementation of innovative course development and delivery tools that support rapid creation and deployment of programs.
- Ensure consistent, effective design and implementation of training programs and materials aligned to the organizational mission and core values.
- Prepare the annual training roadmap for staff for both technical and soft skills development for improved service delivery.
- Create and maintain processes to monitor the health and effectiveness of training interactions and the return on investment for the business.
- Build relationships and influence your leadership team colleagues to address issues that inhibit effective learning.
- Coordinate the evaluation of Global Service Delivery team’s performance as well as the effectiveness of the training programmes implemented.
- Build and cultivate external relationships that are key in Learning and Development initiatives.
- Oversee the effective administration of the LMS, including testing, creating, updating and deploying existing and new training content and user groups.
- Create and deploy routine knowledge and resources for LMS users to improve user experience, enhance course delivery and learnings.
- Keep up to date on LMS features and pass on relevant pieces of communication to users.
- Ensure all training program KPIs data are collected in the right structure, accurate and stored in a secure location for reference when needed.
- Collaborate with the team in designing and developing Training Tools usage and quality policies before Launch.
- Supporting Training Automation through collaborating with Product and/or Engineering.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 8 years of experience in learning/training OR an Advanced degree in Curriculum Design or related field with at least 5 years learning/training experience.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills with a range of audiences and levels of experience.
- Extensive experience with Learning Management Systems – requirements gathering, implementation and management.
- Have an understanding of eLearning techniques. Participation in an online or blended program would be an added advantage.
- Extensive experience working in a fast-paced, complex, matrixed organization.
- Demonstrated experience in skill and competency mapping and data management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects to ensure on-time delivery and quality using both internal and external resources.
- Effective and adaptable communication, with the skills to successfully train a variety of employee roles and levels (e.g., managers, individual contributors, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in Relevant Field.
- Experience working with Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) to develop the digital school curriculum (instructional design experience) would be an added advantage
