Main Objectives of this position:

  • Coordination and facilitation of the project activities in Kilifi County.
  • As the Coordinator, the candidate will be expected to engage the different stakeholders, prepare implementation of project activities (research and intervention), and ensure timely delivery of milestones in line with the set timelines.

    Key Responsibilities and Tasks include:

  • Represent the CHAMNHA Study Investigator team during implementation of set activities;
  • Implement the project as per the study protocols and document all activities;
  • Day-to-day engagement with key stakeholders, including community members, County health department, Community Health Volunteers and national stakeholders for the successful implementation of activities;
  • Organize and facilitate workshops at the level of the community;
  • Coordinate the research data collection at the community level, which may include questionnaire administration and qualitative interviews;
  • Collation, description and analyses of research findings and draft reports;
  • Work with Kenya & UW PIs to coordinate study activities;
  • To undertake high quality research & scholarship, including contributing to peer-reviewed publications, including as lead author;
  • Liaise with research collaborators in other institutions in the CHAMNHA consortium, including attending meetings and presenting study methods and findings where appropriate;
  • Contribute to conduct of systematic reviews of the CHAMNHA consortium as appropriate;
  • To disseminate and communicate research results through social media, and at national and/or international conferences;
  • Other activities as requested by the Kenya & UW PIs to advance the mission of the CHAMNHA consortium.

    Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Master level in social sciences, public health or similar (social work, anthropology, community health sciences etc)
  • Knowledge of local languages, including Swahili (essential) and Giriama (desirable)
  • Knowledge of basic study design principles, including qualitative and quantitative research and systematic reviews
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Terms of Employment: This contract will be for one year, renewable for up to an additional year.
