To be model Centre of excellence in nursing education, clinical practice and research.
MISSION
To educate ethically sensitive nurses whose practice reflects the highest standard appropriate to the needs of the Kenyan society and the world at large.
OBJECTIVES
To provide quality training in nursing sciences in order to produce compete graduate nurses
To engage in scientific research in the core areas of nursing practice that will impact on best practices
To promote collaboration with the Government, private sector and International community
To provide consultancy services in nursing practice, nursing education and research
To engage in community services through provision of quality nursing services
PROGRAMMES
1 programme- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Direct entry programme)
HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL OF NURSING:
Started as a department in the school of health science in 2013. The School of Nursing was established in October 2016 and it has four departments namely:
Department of Midwifery and Reproductive health Nursing
Department of Medical Surgical Nursing
Department of Community Health nursing
Department of Nursing Research, Education and management
The school has been inspected and approved by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) to offer Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. The school admitted its first group of 40 students in January 2017.

Establishment of a well-equipped Skills Laboratory
Activities held by the school in recent past
Established a collaboration with University College Dublin (UCD), School of Nursing, Midwifery and health Systems: a team from UCD visited Meru University in February 2017 while a team from MUST visited UCD in April 2017. A formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been initiated between the two institutions.
Hosted David Massias the Co-Founder and CEO of Shadow Health: Shadow Health is a global leader in development of stimulation learning materials such as virtual patients that are used for training both students and health care professionals. The School of Nursing is pursuing a collaboration with Shadow Health. MUST will be the first University in Africa to implement Conversation based patient technology positioned to change how nursing students learn and faculty teach on the continent of Africa.
