Kenya Forestry Research Institute Internship 2021 | Details On Kenya Forestry Research Institute Internship 2021
ATTACHEMENT
2.1DD HR shall receive applications from continuing students seeking attachment at the institute and ensure review of the applications is done based on relevance of the course to the institute’s activities, availability of vacancy and status of the applicant and a requirement by their institution.
2.2The DD HR shall ensure that the relevant HoDs, thematic leaders or Regional Directors are consulted to confirm availability of vacancy.
2.3The DD HR shall approve the attachment requests and authorize issuance of a letter of acceptance to the successful applicants for attachment period of three (3) months and shall not be renewable. In special circumstances, the attachment shall be renewable at the discretion of the Director subject to a
maximum of three (3) months. This letter shall be accompanied by
indemnity forms which shall be filled in duplicate.

2.4The DD HR shall ensure that the duly filled indemnity form and accident Insurance covers are brought by the student upon reporting for attachment.
2.5The student shall report to the TO for registration and orientation to commence the attachment.
2.6The TO shall hand over the student to their relevant supervisors for assignment of duties.
2.7Upon completion of attachment, the student shall compile and forward attachment report to their supervisor.
2.8The supervisor shall fill in the student dispatch report to accompany the student’s attachment report and forward to the DD HR.
2.9Upon receipt of student dispatch report from the supervisor, the DD HR shall ensure that the student is issued with a recommendation letter.
2.10The TO shall compile quarterly attachment reports and forward to DD HR for further action.
INTERNSHIP
3.1DD HR shall receive applications from interns seeking internship at the institute.
3.2DD HR shall review the applications in liaison with the HoDs/ RDs based on relevance of the course to the institute’s activities, availability of vacancy and funds.
3.3Upon review the DD HR shall forward the applications to the Director for consideration and approval.
3.4Upon approval for internship the DD HR shall proceed to issue an internship offer which shall be for a period of six (6) months renewable.
3.5Upon reporting the DD HR shall ensure the interns undergo an orientation/induction program and report to their respective areas for assignment.
3.6The DD HR shall ensure that the duly filled indemnity form and accident
Insurance covers are brought by the student upon reporting for internship. 3.7 After the lapse of six months internship period, the HoD/RD shall request
for renewal of the internship or re-placement.
3.8In case the intern has not performed satisfactorily, the HoD/RD shall recommend for termination to the Director for necessary action to be taken.

3.9Upon approval by the Director for renewal, DD HR shall act accordingly
3.10The DD HR shall ensure compilation of a quarterly internship report for records.
3.11The DD HR shall issue a recommendation letter upon request by the intern.
