Course Details
The programme meant to produce a comprehensive nurse with the capability to practice clinical, community and midwifery nursing. The programme has a total of 7 semesters. Content covered in the programme addresses the critical thematic areas of the profession which includes:
Fundamentals of Nursing and Midwifery Sciences
Professionalism in Nursing and Midwifery practice
Communication, counselling and basic ICT skills
Pre-clinical and behavioural sciences
Medical-surgical nursing including clinical pharmacology
Midwifery and Reproductive Health sciences
Community Health Nursing Sciences including applied nutrition, nursing leadership and health systems management.
Neonatal care and paediatric nursing
Home-based and palliative care nursing
Peri-operative nursing sciences
Mental Health and Psychiatric nursing
Nursing Research
Nursing care in specialised areas (Emergency care, intensive care and renal nursing)
Entry Requirements
C (plain) aggregate in KCSE or K.C.E Division II
C (plain) or credit in English or Kiswahili
