The values of the individuals who teach, learn and work at the School of Research and Graduate Studies have evolved from the values of the University. Our values provide a frame of reference for making decisions. They contribute to the general atmosphere of the School and guide staff in training, pursuit of knowledge and provision of services.
Academic Freedom: The school shall defend academic freedom of all researchers and learners in the University in the pursuit of knowledge and truth with commitment to scientific excellence based on the key principle of the University’s educational philosophy that faith and reason are not at odds with each other, but they form two complimentary paths of knowledge. We shall uphold the University’s service of the whole circle of truth and knowledge, and the unity between faith and reason.

- Admitting high quality graduate students
- Acquiring and maintaining qualified, competent, highly dedicated and experienced researchers and facilitators;
- Preparing excellent research training materials;
- Maintaining continuous dialogue and communication with graduate students and researchers;
- Conducting monitoring and evaluation of activities;
- Providing for external res of publications, theses and dissertations;
- Conducting annual appraisals and ranking of researches by staff and students;
- Receiving regular feedback on customer satisfaction from researchers, students and other stakeholders.

APPLICATION PROCESS
- All applicants MUST meet the entry requirements for the respective graduate program they wish to apply for. This is verified by the School of Graduate Studies.
- The applicant MUST sit and pass the Graduate Entrance Exam (GEE) administered at the Graduate school every Wednesday and Friday at 2:00 pm. The applicant should report to the university’s admissions office on the inter day. PS: GEE is a written exam
- Complete the Graduate Studies application form and attach relevant documents.
- Provide the original Undergraduate degree certificate and transcript of records (TOR) in English giving full details of subjects studied and grades/marks obtained.
- Provide the original Secondary/High school certificate i.e. KCSE certificate or its equivalent
- Provide certified copies of the above mentioned (no.4 & 5) – i.e. undergraduate degree certificate and transcript of records.
- Provide English language proficiency results where required.
- Attach two (2) completed Reference Forms from former undergraduate/graduate professors and/or employer particularly qualified to attest to the applicant’s qualification for graduate study.
- Attach an updated Curriculum Vitae/Resume
- 2 current passport size photos.
- Provide a copy of National Identity Card (ID) or copy of Passport (bio data page)
- Kshs 2300/- Inter fee payable on the inter day.
PS:
(i) The Oral Inter is carried out after the written exam.
(ii)Certified copies:
All academic documents to be attached to the application should be certified by the learning institution that issued the certificates or by an advocate of the high court.
THE GRADUATE ENTRANCE EXAM (GEE)
- The applicant must sit and pass the Graduate Entrance Exam (GEE) administered at the Graduate school every Wednesday and Friday at 2pm.
- The GEE is a written exam that entails several sections. These include English comprehension, English grammar, an Arithmetic section and an Essay related to the course you are applying for. For applicants applying for MScIT a compulsory programming question is also included. The test runs for an average of 1 and ½ hrs.
- Oral inter exam – once the applicant has completed and passed the GEE exam, they will then have an oral inter administered by a member of the Faculty.
We encourage our applicants to visit relevant GMAT, GRE websites which give some sample tests. This revision will assist the applicant to prepare for the GEE test.
