Multi Community Based Development Initiative (MUCOBADI) a local NGO founded in 2000 by Community Development Volunteers to bring development, but in particular to support people living with HIV to be productive. MUCOBADI is registered as a Non-Government Organization (S.5914/7569) and is incorporated as a company limited by Guarantee.

 

Job Summary:

Position:        Business Incubation Assistant

Job Purpose: The Business Incubation Assistant will be responsible for Community Mobilization, Sensitization and formation of VSLA+ groups and support vulnerable households to engage in business enterprises.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Profiling and identification of current and potential income streams for households
  • Conduct Viability assessment for beneficiary enterprises
  • Support ICARE enrolled households to develop enterprise development plans
  • Train identified beneficiaries on business planning, financial literacy and SPM
  • Raise awareness on VSLA methodology either individually or through enterprise cluster groups
  • Mentor and coach project beneficiaries on enterprise management
  • Link potential beneficiaries to markets and credit facilities (Banks and VSLA groups)
  • Conduct periodic data collection on the performance of the business
  • Collaborate with extension workers and agricultural officers to provide tailored extension services to beneficiaries
  • Assess household graduation readiness
  • Refer and Link HHs to economic growth partners and government livelihood programs
  • Identify highly vulnerable HHs for emergency support and humanitarian assistance programs
  • Follow up the performance of existing VSLA groups
  • Participate in all sub county meetings

OVC Support roles:

  • Identify and enrol all eligible OVCs onto ICARE program
  • Referral and linkage of OVCs to comprehensive services such as education, apprenticeship, health services among others.
  • Assist the program team to conduct planned surveys and studies
  • In liaison with the FA-facility, work with health facilities and clinical IPs to provide tailored services to the OVC by using the audit tool.
  • Conduct community dialogues and outreaches closely with other structures
  • Support documentation and updating of OVC files at the Health Facilities and ICARE offices
  • Participate in scheduled visits by ICARE team, the donor and other partners.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold an O’ Level Certificate.
  • At least two years of experience in NGO work at community level
  • Good skills in community mobilization
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Willingness to comply with all laws and organizational regulations at all times.
  • Ability to work well within teams

 

NB:  The applicants must be residents of Mukono, Kayunga and Buikwe.
