Job Summary:
The Project Assistant will lead the implementation of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) project in Kamwenge and Adjumani Districts. This role involves implementing rights-based approaches at the community level, coordinating with partner agencies, local governments, NGOs, CBOs, and local leaders, and ensuring project quality and results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the UPR project and other advocacy initiatives.
- Coordinate project implementation with partner agencies, local government, and CSOs.
- Manage financial resources, procurement, and logistics at the sub-program level.
- Support planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting activities.
- Promote gender and child protection analysis and rights promotion.
- Represent LWF in district-level platforms and liaise with donors, UN agencies, and government officials.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Laws or Human Rights, specializing in Regional and International Human Rights Mechanisms.
- At least two years of experience in human rights practice, CSO shadow reporting, and access to justice programming.
- Experience in humanitarian and development programming using rights-based approaches.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to ride a Honda XL-125 Motorcycle with a valid riding license.
- Strong planning, communication, multitasking, and critical thinking skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
